Sewer Pipe Vs Tree Roots

#Sewerpipe

Tree roots.. We get calls to clear the main sewer line all the time because of Tree roots, and once we clear the line, we get the same call some time later because the Roots grow back! This is a never ending cycle.

The root hairs will always seek out the water source, they’re already inside your pipes because there is a crack or break in your pipe to begin with. The only cure once and for all for this problem, is to replace the Pipe, and or cut the Tree or Shrub that’s causing the problem, but you may have to consult with your local city first for permission. And remember, you still have a cracked or broken Pipe that really should be replaced.

If you still don’t want to have the pipe replaced, or cut down the root source, another alternative although temporary, is Rooter cleaning. In some cases this is an effective way to temporarily clear the pipe line. The spinning blades of the Rooter (Snake) will scour though your plumbing line, and cut through some, if not most of your tree roots that is causing your stoppage, depending on the root intrusion. You can rent these machines at your local large home store, however, if you don’t know how to use one or you just have no time for the messy task, we recommend you call a licensed professional Plumber.

There is always a possibility that the Sewer pipes may burst, or break, due to the current existing status of deterioration, and or current damage your pipes have before the Rooter service process. And again remember, eventually your Tree roots will grow back, and you will have to deal with the same drain blockage once again.

Coffee grounds and your drain pipes

#Freshbrewedcoffee #drainclog

There's nothing like a good cup of fresh brewed coffee to start the day. But after you finished brewing your favorite coffee, what do you do with the coffee grounds?

Your kitchen sink is not a good place to throw your Coffee grounds. The wet Coffee grounds start sticking to the inside of your pipes.

A good place to throw your Coffee grounds is the trash can. Believe it or not those Coffee grounds will create a clog in your drain line and that's not a good way to start the day.

Another idea is using the Coffee grounds as a natural fertilizer in your Garden or part of your Compost!

If you do get a clog, give us a call!

Before it Rains - Sump Pump and Catch Basin

Before the rain comes pouring down, now would be a good time to clean out the debris in your catch basin and check that your sump pump is working well. This is a good way to ensure that the debris will not interfere with your sump pump capacity, when the rain hits.

The possibility of a flood in your home or garage is very likely, and the damage will be greater, than taking a moment of time to clean out the catch basin and making sure your sump pump is in good working order.

Consider cleaning your catch basin and checking your sump pump at least a couple of times a year. This will assure that your drainage system is functioning smoothly, when you need it most.

Burbank Has A New Water Schedule!

Burbank Has A New Water Schedule!

3 Days/Week Irrigation is Burbank's "New Rule"

California’s drought continues but the improved water supply conditions this year has led the Burbank City Council to move irrigation restrictions from 2 days per week to 3 days per week. Council’s unanimous June 21, 2016 vote also made 3 days per week Burbank’s baseline irrigation requirement. This action is in recognition of the continuous need for best water management.
