Buying your own plumbing supplies to save money

With today’s economy, everyone is trying to save a buck or two, and who can blame them. There are people that will go out and buy the plumbing part or fixture they need or want from their local warehouse store, and then just hire a professional Plumber for the repair or installation. By doing this, they believe that they are saving money.

However, because professional Plumbers cannot warrant/guarantee products that they do not supply themselves, it can cost the homeowner more money if there is a problem with that part or fixture.

Not all plumbing supplies are created equal. Some plumbing fixtures sold at warehouse stores are not of the same grade. Even the well known name brands make lower grade products with the internal parts made from plastic that some plumbers would not use. There are differences between price and product, even if they look the same.

So, how do you know which part or fixture to buy? It’s hard because you don’t have the knowledge or experience of a professional Plumber. Knowing which products work best, last longest, and gives the homeowner the least problems, comes from an expert.

When you hire a professional Plumber to do a job, you're paying for the experience and expertise, which in the long run saves you money.
