Sump pumps are important to have in protecting your property from flood damage. The Sump Pump collects groundwater into a reservoir, then transport the water away from the structure with a pumping mechanism that’s powered by either electricity, water, or battery. Most homes, apt buildings, and garage areas, are at risk for flooding.
If you have a Sump Pump, remember to make sure its working properly to avoid flooding. Regular maintenance is the key. With the rains coming down, the Sump pump can get clogged with gravel, dirt, sand, and or other debris carried in by the water. If the area and the sump pump are not clean, too much debris will clog it and make it stop working completely, and might also burn it out and a new one will have to be installed.
